SHMY-MBM Fire Tested Blast Tested Airtight Door
The SHMY-MBM steel airtight protective door combines a double-leaf steel structure, handwheel operation and mechanical clamping. This industrial airtight door is intended for projects requiring controlled air leakage together with fire, blast shock and moisture performance. Review the tested sample data and confirm the proposed configuration before specifying a custom airtight steel door.
Each inner door leaf has a circular handwheel with no keyed lock cylinder. The outer face retains the handwheels and keyed hardware shown in the product reference. Rear clamping rods and upper and lower clamps remain part of the mechanical closure arrangement. The promotional images illustrate the product with a styled background.
For an airtight industrial door, the handwheel and clamping arrangement support closure and seal contact. The report records air leakage of 0.28 m³/(h·m²) at -500 Pa and 0.25 m³/(h·m²) at +500 Pa, with a measured operating force of 98 N. These are separate test conditions, rather than a claim of zero leakage.
A moisture resistant airtight door requires attention to the steel substrate, protective coating, seals and hardware. The tested sample passed a 1000 h neutral salt spray test: minor white rust was reported at edges, with no substrate corrosion or coating peeling. After 720 h damp heat ageing, seal hardness changed by +2 HA with no cracking or shrinkage.
After 1000 opening and closing cycles, the report records a 4.2% decline in airtightness performance and smooth operation. This supports evaluation of repeated use of the airtight protective door. Salt spray hours are not an outdoor service-life rating, and test temperatures do not define a continuous operating temperature range.
The following SHMY-MBM sample data support selection of a fire tested airtight door or blast tested steel protective door. Distinguish blast shock peak pressure from lateral static pressure when comparing project requirements.
| Test item | Measured result | Conditions and observations |
|---|---|---|
| Fire resistance | 1.0 h | Reported A1.0h; average temperature rise 121.4°C, maximum point 183.5°C |
| Smoke leakage | 0.17 m³/h | At 250 Pa smoke pressure difference |
| Radiant heat flux | 8.6 kW/m² | After the 1.0 h fire test |
| Fire integrity | Pass | No flame penetration or door cracking during the test |
| Hardware after fire test | Pass | Unlocking and operation maintained after 1.0 h |
| Dynamic blast shock | 0.3 MPa | Residual deformation 2.4 mm; report uses 2100 mm door height for limit |
| Frame lateral pressure | 0.89 mm/m | At 0.2 MPa lateral static pressure |
| Panel after blast shock | 2.1 mm | Maximum bulge after 0.3 MPa; no cracks or damage |
| Repeated blast loading | 20 cycles | At 0.15 MPa; intact structure and no hardware loosening |
| Locking and hinges | Pass | Intact after shock; normal opening and closing |
| Frame anchorage | Pass | No loosening, tearing or displacement in reported blast conditions |
The report lists Chinese A1.0h fire performance; this document does not assign an EI60 classification or an international certification. The 0.3 MPa value is a reported dynamic blast shock peak. Project assessment also requires impulse, loading method, opening and anchorage details. The 2100 mm sample door height is used in the report’s deformation limit calculation and is not a universal product size.
The performance of a double-leaf airtight protective door depends on the leaves, frame, seals, clamping hardware and wall connections acting together. Check the opening and wall construction against the approved drawings. Verify frame alignment, continuous seal contact and operating clearance. Equipment, pipes and finishes should not obstruct handwheels or clamps.
A fire and blast tested airtight door should be reviewed as an installed assembly. Opening structure, anchors, sealing materials, hardware and dimensional changes must be consistent with the project design and applicable test scope. Confirm the leaf closing sequence and perform a complete operation check before use.
| Test item | Value or condition | Observations |
|---|---|---|
| Air leakage under negative pressure | 0.28 m³/(h·m²) | At -500 Pa |
| Air leakage under positive pressure | 0.25 m³/(h·m²) | At +500 Pa |
| Operating force | 98 N | Tested from fully sealed condition |
| Leaf to frame clearance | 0.92 / 1.4 mm | Mean / maximum clearance |
| Repeated operation | 1000 cycles | 4.2% airtightness decline; smooth operation |
| High humidity exposure | 40°C / RH95% / 72 h | Leakage increase 0.22 L/(min·m); no condensation or seepage reported |
| Neutral salt spray | 1000 h | Minor white rust at edges; no substrate corrosion or coating peeling |
| Seal damp heat ageing | 720 h | Hardness change +2 HA; no cracks or shrinkage |
| Coating adhesion | 0 | Coating remained intact after damp heat test |
| Low temperature moisture test | -20°C / RH90% / 24 h | No condensation or seepage; seals remained elastic |
| Seal joints | 1 joint | Report records one joint across door seals; close fit |
| Test item | Measured deviation |
|---|---|
| Frame verticality | 0.7 mm/m |
| Frame level | 0.6 mm/m |
| Leaf diagonal deviation | 1.3 mm |
| Leaf flatness | 1.2 mm/m² |
| Opening dimension deviation | +1.1 / -0.8 mm |
| Assembly coaxiality | 0.5 mm |
The report marks these listed items as passing. Smoke leakage uses m³/h, while overall air leakage uses m³/(h·m²); the pressure conditions also differ. These measurements should not be compared as equivalent quantities.
Consider this industrial airtight steel door for equipment rooms, industrial facilities, underground spaces and protective engineering projects requiring controlled leakage and specified fire or shock performance. An equipment room airtight door or underground protective door must be assessed against ventilation pressure, evacuation, fire and structural requirements. Laboratory and clean area projects require separate hygiene and cleanliness checks.
| Configuration | Information required before ordering |
|---|---|
| Opening dimensions | Opening width and height, wall thickness, finished floor and threshold |
| Swing and operating faces | Inside and outside orientation, swing direction and hardware access |
| Steel and leaf construction | Steel grade, sheet thickness and total leaf thickness to be confirmed |
| Finish and coating | Coating color, coating system and corrosion needs against approved samples |
| Performance and installation | Fire performance, blast loading, pressure, anchors and frame sealing |
Is this a zero leakage airtight door? No. The report states measured air leakage at defined pressures. Can steel thickness and finish be customized? Discuss the project requirements; the report does not define standard sheet thickness or a color range. Does the inner face have a key cylinder? No. The inner face has handwheels only; confirm outer locking hardware in the order.
For a custom airtight door quotation, provide an opening sketch, required performance and site photographs. Before production, confirm the configuration, coating sample, swing direction and installation drawings. Keep seals and contact surfaces clean, and inspect handwheels, clamps, hinges and anchors. Investigate binding or damaged seals promptly; follow the final product maintenance instructions.
